AGM 2008
This is the formal notice of the Annual General Meeting of the Mermaid Bowls League to be held at Rye Bowls Club Pavilion (with thanks to The Committee of Rye Bowls Club) on Wednesday 19th November 2008 at 7.30 p.m.
AGENDA
1. Apologies for absence.
2. Minutes of AGM 2007 - circulated previously and copy downloadable from the web site - deemed to have been read.
3. Matters arising from these Minutes (not covered below).

Chairman's Address.
5. Treasurer's Report.
6. Secretary's Report.
7. Sellings Cup 2008; and arrangements for 2009 - Mermaid to host – volunteers to host.
8. Mermaid Fling:
o Report for 2008 from Staplecross
o Venue for 2009 – As previously agreed, this will be at Beckley and will be on the First Sunday in July (5th July 2009). Details fromm Beckley in due course.

Presentation Dinner 2009. Date is booked: Thursday 19th
November.
10. Election of Officers:
o a. Chairman: There being no other nomination, Colin Goldsack is elected nem con.
o b. Treasurer: There being no other nomination, Nigel Pearson is elected nem con.
o c. Secretary: There being no other nomination, John Bennett is elected nem con.
11.
Any Other Business - please note that only business
notified to the Secretary at least 7 days in advance will be
considered.

Sidley Martlets have
expressed a wish to join the Mermaid League. Several member Clubs
already play them on a friendly basis. The Chairman has proposed
acceptance, seconded by the Secretary. A vote will be taken.

Dress code: a reminder
that Rule 17 should be adhered to.
12. Date of AGM 2009 - Wednesday November 18th (day before Presentation Dinner).
According to League Rules, any member of a constituent club may attend the AGM and enter into discussion, but there is only one vote per club – normally the Club Captain unless an alternative is notified to the Secretary before the start of the AGM
